Dr. Tabib incorporates both health maintenance and disease prevention in his practice of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. These two specialty fields of medicine deal primarily with conditions of the digestive tract, which is made up of the esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. Our goal is to maintain health primarily through disease prevention, and when necessary, to intervene with appropriate state of the art methods. We incorporate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as upper and lower endoscopy (EGD and colonoscopy) in this pathway to wellness.

Heartburn and abdominal pain are common symptoms, which may be early warning signs of more serious conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) and peptic ulcers.
Today, these conditions can be treated effectively. Colon cancer and esophageal cancer are also on the rise. Fortunately, measures exist for prevention of these malignancies. If diagnosed early, these cancers can be cured with excellent outcomes.
